
The Academy Training Manager leads the A-1 Academy, overseeing the development of 40–60 new technicians each month through a structured three-and-a-half-week training program. This role ensures the Academy operates with consistency, professionalism, and high standards so technicians graduate fully prepared to perform in the field.
By leading a team of 4–5 technical trainers and owning day-to-day Academy performance, the Academy Training Manager plays a critical role in building the company’s technician pipeline. Success is measured by trainer execution, technician readiness, and downstream outcomes such as retention, productivity, quality, and field leader satisfaction.
Lead and Develop Trainers
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–5 technical trainers
Observe training delivery and provide real-time coaching and feedback
Set clear performance expectations and conduct direct performance conversations
Reinforce consistent delivery standards across the trainer team
Run Academy Operations
Own daily Academy operations, including cohort scheduling and trainer coverage
Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence in the Academy
Ensure training runs smoothly, professionally, and on schedule
Align training execution with evolving field needs
Maintain Training Standards
Ensure curriculum reflects current systems, products, and procedures
Drive consistency in training delivery across all cohorts
Continuously improve programming based on feedback from field leaders
Uphold quality, safety, operational, sales, and customer experience standards
Support Student Performance
Monitor student progress and engagement throughout the program
Participate in performance and readiness conversations when needed
Support graduation and field-readiness decisions
Ensure technicians are prepared to represent the A-1 brand from day one
Contribute Beyond the Academy
Lead or support additional training and operational initiatives as assigned
5+ years of experience leading a training or learning team
Proven experience coaching facilitators or trainers
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional best practices
Experience supporting technical, field, or operational teams preferred
Ability to lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Confidence conducting clear, direct performance conversations
Strong organizational and operational leadership skills

Coaching Mindset: Develops trainers through consistent feedback and clear standards
Operational Discipline: Ensures programs run smoothly and predictably each month
