Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing essential services for customers and supporting independent retailers. The Sales Development Representative will identify and engage independent retailers to join the Instacart Marketplace, manage leads through the sales pipeline, and drive partnership goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and engage independent retailers to join the Instacart Marketplace
- Opportunity to manage the end-to-end sales cycle for small opportunities
- Use cold calls and emails to identify new opportunities, drive value, and establish meaningful relationships with local retailers
- Strong problem-solving, solution mapping and negotiation skills
- Time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a strong go to market strategy
- Work independently while collaborating with the team to achieve individual and team objectives
- Flexibility and adaptability to change
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the sales field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage retailers and convey Instacart’s value proposition
- Developing sales collateral, case studies, and custom ‘stories’ to translate benefits of Instacart’s platform to independent retailers
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a sales or business development role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and establish lasting relationships
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong knowledge of the grocery industry, including market trends and operational challenges
- Experience selling SaaS solutions to drive retailer success is a plus
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools
