CompIntelligence, Inc. is currently seeking an Analytics Engineer who excels at the intersection of business and data. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to create data models and implement them using dbt, while ensuring that curated datasets are available for analytics in tools like Power BI and Sigma.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business teams to capture and document key business events, processes, and metrics
- Design and implement dbt models that reflect these business concepts, applying best practices for modularity, testing, and documentation
- Define semantic layers (metrics, dimensions, and grains) to ensure consistent business logic across BI and AI tools
- Expose curated datasets in the consumption layer (Power BI, Sigma) and enable self-service analytics through certified data products
- Implement requests for changes to existing data products received through the intake process
- Maintain data quality and trust by implementing data tests, freshness checks, and clear documentation in our data catalog (Secoda)
- Partner with Data Engineering to ensure upstream pipelines (Fivetran, ADF, Qlik) deliver reliable source data for transformation
- Drive adoption by publishing usage guides, enabling business analysts, and supporting stakeholders in leveraging semantic definitions
- Implement the governance framework, including rich documentation and metadata management
Requirements:
- 3+ years in analytics engineering, BI development, or data modeling roles
- Ability to translate business processes into dimensional or event-driven data models
- Strong SQL/Snowflake experience
- Familiarity with semantic modeling concepts and BI integration
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and documentation
- Experience in commercial real estate or property management domains
- Knowledge of Snowflake optimization and cost management
- Exposure to data cataloging tools (Secoda) and semantic layer design
- Familiarity with using BEAM templates and documentation
- Familiarity with using DBT models, tests, and documentation
