Sr IBM i Platform & Power Systems Engineer

The Sr IBM i Platform & Power Systems Engineer will plan, design, implement, and support server systems while providing operational support and troubleshooting for various server environments.

Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day operational support and troubleshooting for the server Windows and Compute stack environments (Active Directory and VMware)
• An intermediate understanding of server systems and environment in order to take ownership of certain aspects from end to end
• Conducting triage and resolution of server issues and outages that arrive via ServiceNow requests that pertain to server hardware, server virtualization, and
• Active member of project teams following senior leadership design and project plans
• Communicating and coordinating with stakeholders for escalation related activities
• Actively forecasting needs from 1 to 6 months
• Learning and adopting new technologies and best practices cloud, continuous integration, automation, and process improvement
• Continuously monitor and analyze database ecosystem and capacity
• Cross functional team communicating and coordinating efforts for database, applications, and infrastructure activities
• Intimate knowledge of the ITIL process, ticket resolution, and stakeholder response
• Design, implement, and operate complex solutions
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular attendance is required

Requirements:

• Four (4) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, customer service, problem solving, cross team collaboration, risk analysis, analytical, operating systems, hardware
• Written and communication skills, problem solving, time management, teamwork
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field
