REMOTE - Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a remote opportunity with quarterly travel to Wisconsin. The role involves leading mechanical design for power generation and renewable energy projects, collaborating with various engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver mechanical design packages that meet project and contract specifications
• Support early project stages, including conceptual design and tender documentation
• Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers and CAD Designers to coordinate detailed designs
• Conduct pressure, temperature, flow, and heat transfer calculations
• Create and interpret P&IDs and size absorption chillers
• Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to resolve engineering issues
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with experience in power generation (1–25 MW) or renewable natural gas sectors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD or similar tools
• Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and adaptability under pressure
• Professional engineering registration (PE or equivalent)
• Experience in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems
