Professional Engineering Consultant (PEC) is a leading firm dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across various industries. The Project Engineer at PEC plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of multiple engineering projects, involving design, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in the design and development of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with quality assurance policies, standards, and client specifications
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering plans, drawings, and reports, utilizing BIM/CAD tools and hand calculations as necessary
- Assist in the creation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies to support business development efforts
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to develop construction documents and specifications aligned with building codes and industry standards
- Serve as a technical advisor to project managers, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, both manually and via computer software, to ensure structural integrity and compliance
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, organizing tasks to meet deadlines and quality standards, while overseeing delegated work to junior engineers and support staff
- Conduct quality control reviews at key project milestones to maintain high standards of deliverables
- Mentor and train less experienced staff, fostering professional growth and technical skill development
- Engage in business development activities, including building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and innovative project solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant engineering experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in project design and management
- Valid Professional Engineering (PE) license in the practice location
- Solid understanding of local regulations, permitting processes, and applicable design standards
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoDesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, RISA/RAM, and Enercalc
