Overview:
V2X GTS has a requirement for a Network Operations Specialist in support of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) in Fort Leavenworth, KS. The Network Operations Specialist assists the government Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with all efforts in support of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity under the MCTSP and reports directly to the V2X-GTS Site Lead. The successful candidate must be a United States citizen, with proof of citizenship and a Secret clearance. Standard work week is five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Description:
• Coordinates with outside agencies and Mission Training Center (MTC) sites as necessary.
• Provides updates to the ISSO on when the Cybersecurity risk management process is in place and the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented to protect and defend the capabilities and assets of the MTC Type Boundary Enclave, Information Systems, fielded Program Managed Systems, and Training and Exercise Networks.
• Ensures that the organization fully complies with DoD Directives and Instructions 8140, Army regulations AR 25-2, NIST Special Publications 800-53 and 800-39, as well as following guidance from other Cyber agencies in USARPAC CSPMO, NETCOM, and CYBERCOM.
• Produces artifacts and trackers, as well as other documents to meet the Security Control Assessment – Validation (SCA-V) requirement to maintain the USARPAC Type ATO.
• Maintains and updates records and artifacts for uploading into the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
• Conducts Vulnerability SCANs of the training enclaves and applies STIGs and patches performed by the SAs and NAs.
• Updates and documents STIGs in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, & inspections.
• Supervises/Performs continuous monitoring of applied STIGs and patches.
• Provides customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
• Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information to a diverse group of customers.
• Other duties as directed by the V2X Site Lead.
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
• Network Support Team members will create/establish communications architecture, coordinate communications plans, configure communications equipment, implement Cyber Security processes, and assist in installing equipment and circuitry in support of exercises.
Working Environment:
• Applicant may be required to travel and will be required to work in compliance with OSHA and V2X Safety policies and procedures.
• Must have a SECRET Clearance.
Physical Activities:
• Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under training/simulation devices.
• Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the surrounding environment.
• Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8-hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.
Education / Certifications:
One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree (subject immaterial) required.
• IA Level II certification
Experience:
• Fundamentally computer literate to include (but not limited to) using a personal computer, perform word processing, perform database input, access electronic publications, access the world wide web, brief and debrief software, and fill out electronic forms and grade sheets.
• Ability to support periodic travel.
Skills & Technology Used:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Knowledge of TADSS & Computers.
