Billing Specialist
This position within the Accounting Department will provide financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes.
Billing Specialist Success Factors:
- Ensure invoicing of products and services to customers are completed daily in a timely, accurate and GAAP approved method paying close attention to margins in order to validate gross profit earnings, accurate inventory values, and accounts payables associated with inventory purchases -- all to assist in the management of cash flow.
- Perform routine, assigned tasks to facilitate the accurate and timely collection of accounts receivable (including customer online invoice processing and processing of credit card receipts) to minimize overall credit risk to the Company.
- Assist with the processing of new customer credit applications in a timely manner while maintaining direct communication with related sales personnel to ensure prompt receipt of orders from potential customers.
- Maintain consistent cross training to successfully perform in multiple functional areas within the department.
Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Process daily financial transactions including verifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable invoices
- Research, verify and resolve customer billing issues
- Prepare and process billing adjustments as necessary
Billing Specialist Skills/Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and billing practices
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
- Ability to effectively communicate and cooperate in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Excel and Word
Billing Specialist Compensation and Benefits:
- This is an hourly position and is eligible for overtime pay.
- The hourly range starts at $24 to $27 per hour depending upon accounting and industry experience.
- The position is also eligible to participate in the profit-sharing program and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, Supplemental Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401K with a company match.
- This role participates in the 9/80 schedule which means the individual works 9-hour days and takes a Friday off every other week.
Billing Specialist Working Conditions:
- Includes working primarily in an office setting but must be comfortable in a shop and or warehouse environment.
- The position has the potential for one remote workday per week after training is completed but this role is primarily an on-site office position.
