The Opportunity
We’re looking to fill a Director, Business Insight & Analyst position at RFA Bank of Canada!
We are looking for a Director of Insights & Analytics to join our team. This position will play a central role in driving data-driven decision making within the company. The core responsibilities would involve collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and recommendations. Expertise in data analysis and strong interpersonal skills will be critical in the successful candidate, enabling them to measure and guide key stakeholders on their performance to assist exceeding performance targets.
Core Responsibilities
As the Director, Business Insight & Analyst, you will:
Data Analysis:
• Perform advanced analysis, such as multivariate regression, predictive modeling, logistic regression, sales forecasting, consumer profiling, market mix and ROI measurement
• Create actionable insight and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, building recommendations that directly address business objectives
• Generate operational performance analysis to find conclusions using quantitative and critical thinking methodologies.
• Identify possible conflicts with the strategy and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
• Monitor KPI's, bring awareness to and provide in-depth root cause analysis to change trends.
• Engage with the Business and IT to develop options to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of current processes in the strategic analysis area through process changes including the deployment of supporting technology.
• Structure developed code / working papers that support reporting, so the processes are repeatable and run efficiently, including embedding cross-validation controls to detect and address any inconsistencies.
Reporting:
• Manage and deliver weekly / monthly analysis reporting packages/dashboards to executives and other key stakeholders
• Provide a multi-dimensional view of the Bank’s existing lines of business through consistent reporting, including a key focus on the portfolio product, customer segmentation, source channels and risk profile to offer true insights that drive strategy and action from decision makers.
• Key reporting of product margins, with the focus on isolating and effectively communicating the activity-based drivers that contributed to the actual results.
• Support and quantify the impact of proposed new business initiatives that optimize revenue growth and cost savings for the Bank.
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis for various groups, as needed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
• Bachelors degree in business, computer / data science or related field with preferred experience in client, product, channel or finance analytics
• At least 7+ years of work experience in business related function, analytics, IT reporting, modeling, product management, finance
• Experience in the regulated banking / financial services industry is preferred
• Advanced understanding of data warehousing, mining, reporting and analytics
• Expertise in SQL, Python, SAS, or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Teams)
• Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite is considered an asset
