Grant Street Group is a software company specializing in government products, seeking a UX Researcher & Designer to enhance user experience for B2B SaaS applications. The role involves conducting user research, creating design concepts, and collaborating with various teams to develop user-friendly interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute user research studies such as contextual inquiries, user surveys, and usability tests
- Analyze user requirements and business needs through use cases, user research, and user flows
- Create design concepts, information architecture, wireframes, detailed user interface designs, interactive prototypes and user interface specifications for various applications
- Work closely with the development and testing teams in the implementation and testing of user interfaces
- Create and maintain user experience guidelines and design standards
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience designing for B2B SaaS applications
- Experience identifying UX issues
- Experience using UI/UX design best practices
- Experience planning & conducting user research (in Userlytics, Lyssna, etc.)
- Ability to make informed design decisions using qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for creating high-fidelity mockups
- Ability to ensure designs align with overall business goals, meeting the needs of both users and stakeholders
- Experience iterating on design concepts using rapid prototyping, incorporating feedback from product managers and stakeholders
- Solid understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
- Solid understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines
- Solid understanding of HTML and CSS
- Strong commitment to owning projects and seeing them through to successful completion
- Ability to solve complex problems simply
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences (clients, stakeholders, product leads, developers, etc.)
- Ability to clearly & concisely articulate design decisions, the rationale behind those decisions, and how it aligns with or supports client/company/product goals
- Hunger and ability to learn complex tools/technologies
- Willingness to travel on occasion (around 5%)
