As a Principal Supplier Performance Engineer, you will lead supplier development and qualification activities, prioritize safety, and implement performance improvements while resolving complex quality issues.
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen Nuclear Safety Culture Traits and Human Performance Tools at Westinghouse and with our suppliers
- Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products and cost reduction efforts. This includes identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, input to design for manufacturability
- Lead technical assessments of new suppliers for manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards, and associated risks
- Lead Supplier development activities to implement or improve Supplier quality management systems and manufacturing processes to meet Westinghouse requirements
- Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved
- Oversee internal and supplier corrective action requests, perform cause analyses, and verify completion of preventative and corrective actions
- Lead and escalate 'quality events', coordinating activities, issuing communications, identifying partners to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition, and corrective action
- Evaluate procurement risk, solicit partner input, and use resources to develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
- Work with Design Engineering to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated to support suppliers
- Support implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing principles during the design process
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
- 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes Machining, welding, assembly of components, I&C
- Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs, etc
- Experience identifying project tasks, developing schedules, managing spend
- Experience leading multiple, concurrent projects
- Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
- Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
- Experience with nuclear products and standards desired
- Project Management experience desired
