As a Director/Principal Platform Product Manager, you will lead the customer observability product offerings, developing the product vision and strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate the product vision and strategy for observability products
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape
- Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback, market trends, and business objectives
- Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch and post-launch support
- Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to gather feedback and understand their pain points and requirements
- Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring their needs are reflected in the product development process
- Conduct regular product demos, training sessions, and webinars to educate customers and stakeholders on new features and functionalities
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement
- Analyze product usage data and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Prepare and present product performance reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products in the observability space
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and strategy
- Identify potential partnerships and opportunities for collaboration to enhance product offerings
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on observability, monitoring, or related technologies
- Strong understanding of observability principles, tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack), and best practices
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and a customer-centric approach to product development
- Passion for technology and a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant experience
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
