NextGen Coding Company is a U.S.-based software engineering firm delivering custom platforms, AI systems, automation tools, and enterprise software solutions for organizations across various industries. The company is seeking a Director of Business Development capable of managing the full sales lifecycle, engaging with clients, and generating proposals for software development and consulting engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new client opportunities across target industries
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through deal close
- Run discovery calls and technical discussions with prospective clients
- Gather business and technical requirements from clients
- Work directly with internal engineering leadership to define project scope
- Prepare estimates, pricing, and proposals for software development engagements
- Close deals across custom software development, staff augmentation, recruiting, and consulting services
- Build and maintain relationships with founders, CTOs, and executive stakeholders
- Own and manage the sales pipeline and follow-up process
- Attend conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to generate leads
- Represent NextGen Coding Company in client meetings and industry settings
- Coordinate smooth handoff of new projects to the delivery team after deal close
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or technical consulting
- Experience selling software development services, consulting, or technical solutions
- Ability to lead both business and technical discovery conversations
- Experience scoping software projects and preparing pricing estimates
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple deals simultaneously
- Willingness to travel for conferences, client meetings, and industry events
- Technical enough to discuss software architecture, platforms, and engineering requirements
- Comfortable translating business needs into technical scopes and proposals
- Strong experience closing custom software development and consulting deals
- Capable of managing the full sales process from the first conversation through signed agreement
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable owning sales processes end-to-end
- Able to represent the company professionally in client and conference environments
