Direct Travel is one of the fastest growing Travel Management Companies in the world, and they are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to work at the intersection of travel operations, data systems, and technology. The role involves driving requirements, supporting data validation, and translating business needs into technical specifications while collaborating with various stakeholders to improve processes and ensure data accuracy across platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders across product, operations, account management, and implementation teams
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed functional/technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams
- Conduct detailed process reviews, uncover gaps, and recommend optimization strategies across travel operations, booking flows, Mid-Office processing, and data pipelines
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and functional walkthroughs with internal teams (Ops, Account Management, Implementation, IT)
- Participate in analysis of travel reservation data, GDS interface files, API integrations, and travel vendor data flows
- Collaborate with external vendors (GDSs, travel partners, banks, payment providers, analytics vendors, etc.) when designing, configuring and troubleshooting integrations
- Identify gaps in current systems and propose enhancements aligned with business goals
- Analyze and map data across systems including GDS, NDC APIs, Booking Tools, and payment gateways. Support API integration efforts by reviewing technical documentation, defining payload requirements, and validating request/response structures
- Perform SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validations across travel, GDS, and financial datasets
- Support systems that rely on SQL Server databases, including troubleshooting data issues, analyzing discrepancies, and validating integrations
- Support new customers onboarding for travel related products, data feeds, or custom reporting solutions
- Support UAT by coordinating with business users and ensuring readiness for production deployment. Provide post-launch support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement recommendations
- Ensure data quality and integrity for imports, exports and reconciliations
- Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of projects
- Working with Customers on requirements, setup, configuration and troubleshooting
- Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and cross-functional meetings
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Work closely with data architecture teams to ensure accurate data transfer into ERP, Mid-Office, and analytics systems
- Manage support tickets, document resolutions, and facilitate communication between business stakeholders and developers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 7-10+ years of experience as Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
- 3-5 years of experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Unit4 ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 360, Oracle NetSuite or equivalent
- Strong hands‑on experience with SQL Server, T‑SQL, stored procedures, and data analysis
- Strong understanding of APIs, JSON/XML, data imports/exports, file-based integrations, and system architecture
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
- 2-3 years of familiarity with cloud technologies is a plus specifically Azure and Azure SQL Database
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management
- Previous Travel technology experience - EDIFACT
- Unit4 CentralCommand expertise
- Certifications in Business Analysis, SQL Server, or related technologies
