Position 1: Resident Assistant
$9500 credit toward room and board charge
$1000 stipend per semester
Resident Assistant Position Summary:
The Student Life Office is seeking motivated and community-focused undergraduate students to serve as Resident Assistants (RAs) for the academic year. A Resident Assistant (RA), at Keuka College, is an undergraduate student whose responsibility is to build community among residents, supporting diversity and inclusion, enforcing and supporting policies, providing after-hour services, and managing an environment that is conducive to sleep and study while creating opportunities that enhance a resident’s academic success and personal growth and development. Resident Assistants are expected to serve in this role for the academic year and this position requires RAs to live in their assigned residence hall or apartment in exchange for a discounted room rate and stipend for the academic year.
Resident Assistant Essential Responsibilities:
- Community Building/Development/Engagement - RAs plan and implement programs to provide opportunities for residents to interact and be exposed to different experiences and personalities to enhance their acclimation into the global perspective. They are expected to have intentional interactions with the community and encourage involvement in all facets of the collegial environment. Availability and interaction is key to being able to create a strong community. They will role model support for the entire campus community by actively participating and attending in many facets of the campus activities.
- Policy Enforcement & Safety - RAs serve in an on-call rotation to ensure someone is always available for assistance and support for residents after regular business hours. Duty will require high visibility and documentation. RAs are attentive to resident safety and security and are expected to effectively manage a respectful environment by educating residents on the impact of their behaviors and decisions on themselves and others in the community. This will include wellness checks and life & safety checks as well as room inventories and checking residents into and out of rooms.
- Administrative Duties & Departmental Expectations - RAs are required to follow the departmental and building guidelines for staffing needs and maintaining appropriate efficiency in the building of a strong community. This includes all staff meetings, training attendance, desk coverage, reports, programming, break coverage, opening and closing of all buildings, wellness checks and follow through. RAs will be held to a higher standard of accountability for all policy adherence, ethical and confidentiality considerations. Including but not limited to working all day for move ins and move outs.
- RAs are expected to communicate with their supervisors when unable to fulfill any of the above qualifications. This means properly responding to emails, texts, or any other form of communication in a timely manner as specified by their supervisor.
- Leadership, Role Modeling & Training - RAs are Keuka College employees and are expected to abide by, enforce, support, and exemplify all the values of the College and adhere to all the policies and procedures. RAs are also expected to attend all training and in-service events scheduled by the Residence Life Office.
Minimum Qualification for Resident Assistant position only:
- Required to live in assigned on-campus housing for the duration of their employment
Position 2: Orientation Leader
$1000 one time stipend
Orientation Leader Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Student Life Office, Peer Mentors (PMs) are well-trained in the exciting opportunities that Keuka College provides for its students, campus resources, and college policies and procedures. The purpose of Peer Mentors is to connect with their first year and transfer students from New Student Orientation throughout their first week at Keuka College to ensure they are finding their way to academic and personal success. Orientation Leaders will be trained to provide academic coaching in skills necessary for college success, such as time management, study skills, test-taking skills, and stress management. As an Orientation Leader, you will have the opportunity to share what you know about being a successful student who meets their academic goals while living an engaged and exciting extra-curricular life at Keuka College. Peer Mentors will be employed August 13, 2025 – August 31, 2025.
Orientation Leader Essential Responsibilities:
- Guide first year and transfer students through their New Student Orientation (Wolf Week) and first week of classes.
- Support first year students to build relationships and a sense of belonging at Keuka College.
- Promote and encourage attendance at campus events and involvement in recognized clubs and organizations.
- Share campus policy and procedure information with mentees.
- Refer mentees to campus support services as needed and immediately report critical issues to their supervisor.
- Model appropriate academic and social attitudes and behaviors.
- Maintain professional communication with supervisor
- Wear a staff shirt or name tag to events and maintain professionalism during employment.
- Check Keuka College email and Orientation Leader group chat regularly through NSO.
- Attend all necessary trainings.
- Be responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
- Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Position 3: Peer Mentor
$1000 per semester
Peer Mentor Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Student Life Office, Peer Mentors (PMs) are well-trained in the exciting opportunities that Keuka College provides for its students, campus resources, and college policies and procedures. The purpose of Peer Mentors is to connect with their first year and transfer students after New Student Orientation throughout their first academic year at Keuka College to ensure they are finding their way to academic and personal success. Peer Mentors will provide ongoing support throughout students’ first year by assisting them in navigating college. In addition, Peer Mentors will be trained to provide academic coaching in skills necessary for college success, such as time management, study skills, test-taking skills, and stress management. As a Peer Mentor, you will have the opportunity to share what you know about being a successful student who meets their academic goals while living an engaged and exciting extra-curricular life at Keuka College. Peer Mentors will be employed August 1, 2025 – May 14, 2026.
Peer Mentor Essential Responsibilities:
- Support first-year and second-year students to build relationships and a sense of belonging at Keuka College.
- Engage consistently with mentees through designated contact points through various methods (e.g., desk hours, individual meetings, technology, small and large group settings, restorative practices, supporting programming, etc.).
- Support students by assisting in staffing the ASK Desk in Lightner Library.
- Attend bi-weekly one-on-ones and monthly staff meetings with supervisor.
- Promote and encourage attendance at campus events and involvement in recognized clubs and organizations.
- Execute programming designed to support first-year and second-year students through both the Academic Success Center and Office of Campus Life.
- Attend and Promote Rising Sophomore Meetings.
- Guide incoming first-year and transfer students through Spring New Student Orientation.
- Refer mentees to campus support services as needed and immediately report critical issues to their supervisor.
- Model appropriate academic and social attitudes and behaviors.
- Maintain professional communication with supervisor, including attending weekly staff meetings, developmental training sessions, one-on-ones with supervisor(s), and contributing to peer mentor program improvement efforts.
- Wear a Peer Mentor shirt or name tag to events and maintain professionalism throughout the event.
- Maintain professionalism throughout employment.
- Check Keuka College email and Peer Mentor group chat regularly (at least once a day).
- Be responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.

Position 4 KCSA Peer Mentor:
$1250 stipend paid over two pay periods
KCSA Peer Mentor Position Summary:
The Keuka College Summer Academy (KCSA) Student Peer Mentor will reside with and mentor KCSA students during a four-week summer academic enrichment program. This position will normally begin mid to late July and end in mid to late August. Peer mentors are expected to reside in the same building with our incoming first year students for the duration of the KCSA.
KCSA Peer Mentor Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in facilitating student arrival of all KCSA students
- Mentor/assist the KCSA students during their mandatory Academic Success Center, study skills, one-on-one appointments, and study tables.
- Model KCSA students on issues that characterize college life appropriately.
- Serve as a role model by displaying positive attitudes that reinforce the purpose of being in college as well as promoting a cohesive campus community.
- Plan and implement at least two extra-curricular projects for the KCSA students.
- Supervise and participate in extracurricular activities with the KCSA students.
- Maintain daily contact with appropriate parties involved in the Keuka College Summer Academy (KCSA) program (administrators, staff, and faculty/instructors).
- Oversee the awards and presentation during the closing ceremony.
- Complete all necessary/required paperwork relating to KCSA.
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
- Attend provided/necessary training(s) and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies.
- Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications for all Student Leader positions :
- Evening and weekend hours required.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- May not assume any paid off-campus responsibilities outside the Student Resident Assistant position without permission from department Director or their designee.
- Must be of full-time student status (12 or more credits) and must maintain full-time status for duration of position.
- Minimum class-standing of rising sophomore OR two semesters of residency in the Keuka College residence halls/apartments.
- Must be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.50. If this status is not maintained, the person may lose their position or be placed in a probationary status until improved or rectified for up to one semester.
- Must maintain good conduct and judicial standing. The RA job is that of a role model. An RA must not be on probationary status with the College for violating any policies.
- Ability to pivot and focus quickly without guidance.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Understand how to and be able to always behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality.
- Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of residents, students, faculty, college staff and the public.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
