About the Position
This mid-level System Administrator role maintains and improves Evergreen Goodwill’s core technology across offices, retail outlets, and training centers, ensuring stable, secure operations—especially retail POS and classroom environments. Beyond ticket handling, the role owns recurring issues, streamlines workflows, and implements automation or standardization to make systems more reliable and the Technology Services team more proactive.
The System Administrator supports a hybrid Active Directory to Entra ID migration, Microsoft 365, Intune, and Cisco/Meraki networks, contributing to identity, endpoint, and network initiatives. Hands-on technical judgment, networking fundamentals, and a drive to improve systems are required. Hybrid schedule with occasional on-call and regional travel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Support and maintain core systems including hybrid Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• Assist with management and troubleshooting of Cisco and Meraki network infrastructure, including wireless and site connectivity.
• Monitor system performance across office, retail, and training locations, and address recurring issues before they become larger problems.
• Take ownership of recurring technical challenges and implement long-term fixes, automation, or process improvements where possible.
• Contribute to endpoint management initiatives, including support for Microsoft Intune.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex issues escalated from frontline support staff.
• Participate in frontline support coverage as needed, prioritizing revenue-impacting POS systems and classroom-critical services.
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge base materials.
• Assist with testing and deployment of system updates, configuration changes, and infrastructure improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical incidents.
• Travel to retail and training center locations as needed to provide onsite technical support and infrastructure assistance.
• Promote secure, reliable, and standardized technology practices across the organization.

Education and Experience
• 5–8 years of experience in IT, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a similar technical role.
• Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a production environment.
• Experience working in a hybrid Active Directory environment and familiarity with Entra ID concepts.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, with experience supporting Cisco and/or Meraki environments preferred.
• Experience identifying recurring technical issues and implementing sustainable, long-term solutions.
• Familiarity with IT service management practices and structured ticketing systems; FreshService experience preferred.
• Exposure to endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to balance day-to-day operational work with longer-term system improvements.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a technical team.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
• Technical certifications are not required but are strongly preferred.
• Microsoft (Azure/M365/Entra ID) and Cisco certifications are considered a plus.
• Valid WA State driver’s license and proof of insurance required.

Physical Abilities
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 10-20 pounds and to operate computer systems.

• Maintain reliable attendance.
Work Environment
Office and store environment, moderate noise level, dust. Must have reliable transportation as this position requires some travel to Evergreen Goodwill locations, offsite meetings and events.
