Project Engineer

Professional Engineering Consultant (PEC) is a leading firm dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across various sectors. The Project Engineer at PEC plays a pivotal role in the design and execution of multiple engineering projects, requiring a detail-oriented professional to lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the design process for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to quality assurance policies, standards, and project specifications
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering plans, drawings, and technical reports
• Assist in developing project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies to support business development efforts
• Perform engineering design calculations manually and using computer software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project objectives and deadlines
• Identify potential project risks and communicate these to the project management team proactively
• Oversee delegated tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide technical guidance to support staff and less experienced engineers
• Conduct quality control reviews at various project milestones to ensure deliverables meet PEC standards
• Participate in business development activities, including maintaining client relationships and exploring new project opportunities
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports for internal and client review

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
• Minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience
• Proven track record of managing complex projects
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the practice location
• Strong technical proficiency
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoDesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, RISA/RAM, and Enercalc
• Experience with structural design, calculations, and analysis for various materials and systems
