The Project Engineer at PEC plays a pivotal role in the design and execution of multiple engineering projects, requiring a detail-oriented professional to lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the design process for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to quality assurance policies, standards, and project specifications
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering plans, drawings, and technical reports
- Assist in developing project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies to support business development efforts
- Perform engineering design calculations manually and using computer software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project objectives and deadlines
- Identify potential project risks and communicate these to the project management team proactively
- Oversee delegated tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide technical guidance to support staff and less experienced engineers
- Conduct quality control reviews at various project milestones to ensure deliverables meet PEC standards
- Participate in business development activities, including maintaining client relationships and exploring new project opportunities
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports for internal and client review
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience
- Proven track record of managing complex projects
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the practice location
- Strong technical proficiency
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoDesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, RISA/RAM, and Enercalc
- Experience with structural design, calculations, and analysis for various materials and systems
