Material Coordinator

The Material Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement, coordination, and movement of materials, parts, and products across suppliers, warehouses, and end users. This role ensures material inventory levels are accurate and sufficient to meet operational demands. The Material Coordinator also analyzes order trends, inventory data, and forecasts to support future material planning.

• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Manage procurement and timely delivery of materials for assigned clients.
• Maintain accurate physical and electronic inventory records.
• Develop and process purchase orders and material transactions.
• Coordinates, tracks, and statuses all materials until closure (receipt).
• Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for vendors/suppliers to obtain required documentation and signatures.
• Coordinate with Expediters for the transportation of materials and personnel.
• Maintain clean, organized worksites and contribute to housekeeping efforts.
• Support procurement operations: issue POs, coordinate shipments, and provide order updates.
• Assist in loading and unloading material and equipment for mobilization.
• Support general administrative duties and provide assistance to management as needed.
• Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.
• Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
  • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
  • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
  • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
• Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of material inventory levels, reorder points, and tracking systems.
• Knowledge of logistics, procurement practices, and vendor coordination.
• Ensuring materials meet company and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with cost control, purchase order processing, and supplier negotiations.
• Ability to recognize abnormal conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Knowledgeable of the contents of the ASH handbook, company policies, and pertinent standard operating procedures.
• Managing quantities, costs, and purchase order calculations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other team members.
• Skilled in basic or advanced computer programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively within a team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED
• NSTC Card

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous North Slope or Artic experience
• Prior warehouse experience

Work Environment:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.  This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) LEVEL 3

• MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service.  Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
• LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
• HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
• VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
• LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
• RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
