Sr Business Systems Analyst - Web Platform Application Development

Protective is a company dedicated to helping customers manage life's uncertainties. They are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to enhance their web applications, ensuring quality delivery and support throughout the systems' lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities to improve business outcomes through technology and recommend solution approaches aligned to enterprise strategy
• Analyze complex business and system impacts of proposed changes and clearly communicate trade-offs and recommendations
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business partners on system capabilities, constraints, and optimization opportunities
• Lead or contribute to multiple initiatives using appropriate delivery and tracking methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall as applicable)
• Produce clear documentation including scope, requirements, dependencies, risks, and release/implementation plans
• Provide regular, concise status updates to stakeholders and delivery teams
• Elicit and document requirements using techniques such as workshops, interviews, prototyping, and process walkthroughs
• Develop high-quality epics, features, and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned with defined standards
• Collaborate closely with developers and QA to ensure shared understanding of requirements, designs, and expected outcomes
• As part of the development team to execute on effective test strategies, including functional and regression testing affirming all acceptance criteria has been met
• Participate in reviews of requirements, designs, and code to ensure quality and completeness, including both positive and negative test cases are included
• Proactively identify risks, defects, and gaps through analysis and testing activities
• Diagnose and manage complex production issues to resolution, working closely with technical teams
• Provide clear, actionable diagnostic information and recommendations
• Communicate effectively with end users and stakeholders during issue resolution
• Develop user documentation and training materials for new or enhanced system functionality
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer as needed to ensure successful adoption

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, preferably supporting web-based applications
• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience working on Agile teams, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
• Working knowledge of analysis and modeling techniques (process flows, use cases, diagrams)
• Experience with manual and automated testing approaches
• Technical familiarity with SQL, HTML, XML, JSON is a plus
