This position is a member of our Division Support Section of the Remediation Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Serve as the first point of contact in-person, via telephone, and digitally for the TCEQ Remediation Division. Assess and clarify internal and external inquiries, provide general information, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff or department. Communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse range of individuals, including in high-volume or time-sensitive situations.
Receive, log, secure, and distribute incoming deliveries and documents. Maintain accurate records and ensure materials are routed to the appropriate recipients.
Coordinate and prepare outgoing mailings, including organizing and assembling materials as requested by staff.
Maintain office supply areas by tracking inventory and usage. Responsible for proactively restocking supplies as needed.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Independently gathered and clarified incomplete, vague, or inaccurate information from customers to determine their actual need before acting
Determined and directed customers to the appropriate department, staff member, or next step without reliance on scripted transfers
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus one year of full-time experience providing administrative and/or clerical support in an office setting.
Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Administrative Assistant III state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Administrative Assistant III series.
WORK SCHEDULE
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the Division Support Section of the Remediation Division.
