Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in the Industrial Chemicals Market. The role involves leading business development efforts, managing client relationships, and collaborating with various teams to meet the needs of Industrial clients while expanding Pond's national presence.
Responsibilities:
- Drive business development across Chemical, Air and Water Quality, and Process Industry markets
- Lead the full business development lifecycle: prospecting, lead qualification, pursuit strategy, proposal development, and closing
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline, tracking activity in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, HubSpot)
- Collaborate with marketing, proposal teams, and technical subject matter experts to create client-focused strategies and materials
- Deliver executive-level client presentations and pursuit strategies tailored to highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Partner closely with project management and engineering teams to align client requirements with technical solutions, including process engineering and facility design
- Travel as required for client engagement, team coordination, and industry events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of B2B sales experience in the AEC industry, with demonstrated success in one or more Industrial sectors (Chemicals, Food and Beverage, Utilities, Life Science, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.)
- Ability to build and grow a book of business in regulated and compliance-driven environments
- Strong understanding of how A/E/CM services support facility design, production processes, process engineering, and validation requirements
- Familiarity with CRM and sales tools (Salesforce, Deltek, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
- Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead cross-functional pursuit teams
- Ability to travel 30–50% as needed
- Experience navigating complex, long-cycle sales and procurement processes
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards across Industrial Markets
- Knowledge of chemical unit operations, full project life cycle from engineering study through construction and commissioning, and experience guiding Clients through gated capital appropriation requests
- Background in developing go-to-market strategies or launching new service offerings in technical markets
