Senior Business Systems Analyst - AI & RAG

LAI is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to partner with business and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions across data, analytics, and enterprise platforms. This role focuses on requirements definition, solution evaluation, and system implementation, particularly for AI-enabled capabilities such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

Responsibilities:

• Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, including AI-enabled use cases
• Facilitate workshops, develop user stories, and manage backlogs
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
• Support evaluation of technology solutions (build vs. buy vs. configure), including AI/RAG-based tools
• Work with engineering teams to define system behavior, data flows, and integrations
• Contribute to solution design discussions across enterprise applications, data platforms, and AI-enabled systems
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards
• Support the design and implementation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) use cases
• Work with data and engineering teams to define:
• Document/data sources
• Chunking and retrieval strategies
• Access controls and data security considerations
• Translate business needs into RAG workflows (e.g., enterprise search, knowledge assistants, document Q&A)
• Assist in evaluating RAG-related tools and platforms (e.g., vector databases, AI platforms, copilots)
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements, usability, and compliance needs
• Define test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria, including for AI-enabled features
• Support UAT and validation cycles
• Assist with production releases and post-implementation support
• Act as a liaison between business, engineering, and vendors
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide clear documentation, training materials, and status updates

Requirements:

• 7+ years as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
• Proven experience working on or supporting RAG-based solutions in an enterprise setting (e.g., knowledge assistants, intelligent search, document Q&A systems)
• Experience in data, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, finance) is a plus
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solution components
• Experience working in Agile / SDLC environments
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills
• Bachelor's (Required)
• Business Systems Analyst: 7 years (Required)
• Artificial intelligence (AI): 1 year (Required)
• Must be able to pass and clear background check, employment and Education verification prior to starting
• The client Will Require 2 professional Work References to be completed prior to starting
• Familiarity with RAG architecture concepts: Retrieval pipelines, embeddings, vector search
• Exposure to platforms such as: Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Databricks, or similar
• Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Fabric, Databricks)
• Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): 1 year (Preferred)
