The VP of SaaS Engineering will lead and manage the engineering and product department, overseeing teams to enhance engineering practices and drive product innovation with AI-driven features.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex application and platform landscapes across SaaS, integrations, and ecosystem services
- Identify and guide high-impact, non-trivial technology decisions with clear trade-offs and long-term implications
- Define technology roadmaps and contribute to business case development aligned to product and growth strategy
- Review vendor proposals and oversee in-flight technical work to ensure quality, scalability, and value realization
- Provide oversight for delivery execution, engineering quality, and architectural integrity
- Continuously optimize engineering and delivery practices, including modern, AI-enabled and agentic workflows
- Advise and mentor internal leaders and teams on core technical concepts, frameworks, and emerging practices
- Build and leverage a strong network across the Xplor engineering community to share knowledge and accelerate outcomes
Requirements:
- 10+ years of senior engineering leadership experience with a proven record of modernizing engineering practices and delivering complex, high-impact platforms
- Strong balance of deep technical expertise and business acumen, with the ability to lead and influence globally distributed teams
- Demonstrated experience in the Connect & Ecosystem domain, including integrations, APIs, partners, and platform capabilities
- Ownership of defining and executing an engineering strategy that drives innovation, scalability, and sustainable growth
- Strategic, hypothesis-driven mindset with a pragmatic, iterative approach and a bias toward action
- Self-directed leader with growing thought leadership and exposure to modern and emerging technologies
- Experience applying new (but proven) methodologies and ways of working to improve delivery outcomes
- Ability to balance dogmatism and pragmatism, articulate trade-offs, and drive high-impact decisions across areas such as SaaS/IaaS/PaaS providers, container orchestration, service mesh, API gateways, and commercial vs. open-source software
- Practical approaches to managing architectural debt, governance, and evolutionary architecture
- Strong understanding of AWS or cloud-native infrastructure, microservices architectures, API design, and implementation patterns
- Familiarity with microservices topologies and operational concerns including resiliency, observability, security, discovery, and routing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
