EPI Power, LLC is a leading electrical contracting company specializing in data center projects and large-scale electrical infrastructure. The Senior Electrical Procurement Engineer is responsible for overseeing the procurement process for materials at the Cedar Rapids project site, managing purchasing, monitoring delivery schedules, and ensuring effective communication between the project team and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare technical documentation, RFQ packages, and procurement of goods and services
- Initiate and manage purchase orders, evaluate project schedules, and align material delivery accordingly
- Participate in specification reviews, bid preparations, submittal reviews, and quote solicitations, including developing supplier work statements, soliciting proposals, and negotiating costs
- Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely arrival of materials and resolve any issues related to incorrect or late orders
- Expedite procurement processes as needed to meet project deadlines
- Resolve payment and material discrepancies, track issues, and obtain refunds when necessary
- Monitor supplier performance, ensure contractual obligations are met, and identify new suppliers as required
- Maintain department reports and documentation for procurement activities
- Assist in material inspections, factory testing, and coordinate meetings related to procurement activities
- Mentor and guide team members on procurement strategies, specification reviews, project scope, and negotiation techniques
Requirements:
- A minimum of seven years of experience in procurement within the construction or electrical industry
- A strong understanding of material work planning, engineering methods, and purchasing requirements
- Excellent negotiation skills
- High initiative and sound judgment
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
