Anchorage Digital is building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto. They are seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Automation Engineer to improve operational efficiency by developing and integrating backend services and capabilities, collaborating with Global Operations teams to address critical pain points and design effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Build capabilities into existing back-office systems to reduce manual work and consolidate disparate systems
- Create net-new backend services and capabilities and integrate with existing backend and frontend services
- Collaborate directly with Global Operations teams to identify critical pain points and prioritize initiatives
- Translate operational needs into technical requirements and design, develop, and deploy solutions
- Understand and navigate diverse existing codebases across various internal systems
- Author robust, high-quality, and well-tested solutions that span multiple backend and frontend services
- Contribute to secure, resilient internal infrastructure from the ground up and ensure its ongoing health
- Participate in code reviews for changes impacting multiple teams, fostering an efficient, deterministic testing culture
- Solve complex software design problems that optimize internal operations
- Break down large, cross-functional internal projects into manageable tasks and accurately estimate multi-person efforts
- Ship code and solutions that directly improve the daily efficiency and productivity of global operations teams
- Jump between and contribute to a wide array of internal systems and operational workflows supporting different business functions
- Collaborate closely and cross-functionally with Global Operations and other internal stakeholders to understand critical needs and gain alignment on solutions
- Influence the technical direction and roadmap for internal systems, ensuring technology directly addresses operational needs
- Mentor and guide other engineers, sharing expertise on navigating diverse internal codebases and understanding strategic operational goals
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience building and enhancing complex internal software systems
- Experience designing, building and deploying cloud native micro-services
- Passionate about building automated tests alongside your features
- Real world experience building complex distributed systems
- Enjoy building services from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time
- Genuine interest and pride in code quality and infrastructure
- Prioritize end-user experience and business value over 'cool tech.'
- Developed 'computer science fundamentals', i.e. algorithms, data structures and operating systems (Formal CS degree NOT required)
- Self describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail oriented, hard working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action oriented, and tenacious
- Professional experience with Python or Go
- Professional experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with system security (e.g. authentication, authorization, identity, API keys)
- Background in the finance industry
