Brand Manager, Innovation
Scope:
The Brand Manager is responsible for supporting the development of new products for Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, Colgate’s dental business. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, this role fully owns the innovation development process for all new products sold and marketed to the dental profession. Key focus areas include pipeline development, consumer research, and cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities:
1. Research, Insights, and Value Creation
Drive consumer research by partnering with the Insights team to develop robust learning plans, leading both qualitative and quantitative research efforts.
Translate research findings into compelling "jobs to be done," solutions, and concepts that create perceivable consumer value.
Maintain a "people-obsessed" focus by monitoring emerging category trends and competitive activity to pinpoint unmet consumer needs and bring the consumer perspective to the forefront of all initiatives.
2. Strategic Innovation & Pipeline Development
Develop a robust 3+ year innovation growth grid, proactively identifying white space opportunities, business gaps, and product solutions that align with strategic priorities.
Lead the development of the innovation pipeline, continually seeking new ways to get closer to people in how CP brings new solutions to market.
Embed a culture of innovation across the organization by championing new marketing practices, ways of thinking, and technology adoption. Be an inspiring thought leader within the company.
Ensure flawless execution of innovation projects through the stage-gate process, consistently delivering strong results across multiple simultaneous initiatives.
3. Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Execution
Lead complex innovation projects by orchestrating a high-performing, cross-functional team (including Sales, Brand Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Packaging, and Design)
Influence and gain buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders by designing and delivering clear, impactful project updates, recommendations, and growth plans.
Lead partnerships with external agencies and vendors to amplify innovative thinking and accelerate new opportunities to the next level
Get Financial: In partnership with Finance to set the pricing strategy and develop comprehensive financial assessments of new products (source of volume, costing, pricing, and share targets).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
8+ years of total commercial experience (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance), with at least 3 years in Innovation role or 6+ years with an advanced degree
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of relevant experience, with an MBA.
Prior experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Pharmaceuticals
Demonstrated creativity, curiosity, and strategic thinking skills.
Proven results-orientation and a strong ability to influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining delivery excellence.
Demonstrated ability to drive data-driven decision making, effectively storytelling with data and translating complex insights into compelling narratives that influence stakeholders and secure buy-in.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $124,000.00 - $160,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
