The role involves leading analytical initiatives to enhance e-commerce offerings, translating data into actionable insights, and collaborating with various teams to optimize business performance.
Responsibilities:
- You will be the primary analytical lead for new e-commerce launches, overseeing the business lifecycle from establishing foundational KPIs and data integrity to optimizing commercial performance
- You will analyze the customer journey—including conversion funnels, engagement, and lifetime value—to uncover the 'why' behind business numbers
- You will guide the operating rhythm by summarizing data from newsroom, product, and marketing teams to lead weekly and monthly business reviews for leadership
- You will correlate internal performance with external macro trends, such as market shifts and benchmarks, to provide an objective view of business health
- You will collaborate with Finance and Ops to model Return on investment for new projects while being the 'analytical glue' between all teams
- Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world
Requirements:
- 4+ years as a business analyst, digital strategy, or management consulting role in an e-commerce business, with experience influencing business decisions
- Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or Mode), with an emphasis on extracting insights rather than just building architecture
- Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world
- 1+ years of experience supporting a digital storefront or physical product launch
- Familiarity with SWOT analysis, P&L management, and customer segmentation
- 1+ years of experience leading work streams and keeping diverse teams aligned on deadlines
