SAIC is seeking a Software/Application Engineer for a FULL REMOTE position to support a US Coast Guard project as part of the Air Force Modeling & Simulation program. The role involves building and maintaining a Learning Management System (LMS) and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless learning for end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions for the LMS
- Support both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom applications in order to maintain live playback, course completions, and training requirement synchronization
- Integrate internal and external APIs with a variety of USCG-affiliated stakeholders
- Collaborate with QA Engineers to ensure Verification and Validation, as well as system performance
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software engineering, and application development to drive continuous innovation and improvement
Requirements:
- Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and HTML/CSS, with experience with frameworks like Angular or React.js being a plus
- Experience with application development for Linux-based platforms
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Understanding of and willingness to work within an Agile framework
- Must be a US citizen and currently possess an Active Secret Clearance
- Must possess a Sec+ or another DoD 8570 compliant certification
- Bachelor's and Zero (0) or relevant year of experience in lieu of degree
