About this role
Further is a data, cloud, and AI company focused on helping organizations make informed decisions from raw data. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the architecture and implementation of complex web applications while collaborating with data science teams to integrate AI models into production-ready web interfaces and APIs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and implementation of complex web applications using Go, TypeScript (Svelte), and Python (FastAPI)
- Design and optimize relational database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and performance
- Architect and manage the deployment of web applications on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing services such as Cloud Run, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Vertex AI, and various Google Cloud APIs
- Develop maintainable and user-friendly interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., Svelte, HTMX)
- Collaborate with data science teams to integrate AI models into production-ready web interfaces and APIs
- Actively mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth within the team
- Establish best practices for development
- Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews to maintain high standards of logic, security, and performance
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional web application development experience
- Expert-level command of Go and Typescript with full-stack development experience
- Expert-level knowledge of Google Cloud platform, including VPC, Load Balancing, and web application architecture
- Strong background in web application architecture design, and best practices
- Extensive experience operating cloud run applications in production environments with high availability and scalability
- Proficiency with git workflows and understanding of agile application development processes (SDLC)
- Professional Cloud Developer certification
- Previous experience in a client-facing consulting role, managing diverse stakeholders and navigating complex organizational structures
- Direct experience supporting data science teams or building AI-driven applications
