ABICOR BINZEL is seeking a Business Development Manager specializing in laser processes. The role involves developing strategic relationships, providing technical support, managing customer interactions, and increasing market share in the laser processing optics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Main responsibility is business development with a focus on the development of strategic relationships in key market areas
- Provide access to key customers and market segments for the organization to support the selling process with high-end technical support
- Track and maintain leads and opportunities or regions and markets of interest
- Must show ability to learn new technologies and provide varied levels of technical expertise
- Manage and solve conflicts with clients by providing profitable and strategic solutions to customer problems
- Gain specification approvals by meeting the needs of strategic customers to insure long-term profitable growth in capital equipment and consumable sales
- Establishes/maintains customer confidence at high levels and develops positive customer relationships to promote and secure long-term agreements
- Manage customer RFQs and the generation of proposals to support
- Complete proposal follow-up and tactical action plans for each opportunity
- Effectively prepare and deliver sales presentations
- Goal setting and preparation of sales forecasts/ budgets
- Increase market share of Abicor Binzel and supported products in the US and Canada
- Support and communication with other subsidiaries (Brazil, Mexico) are required to ensure full coverage
- Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to retain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling
- Collects and shares competitive intelligence and identifies weaknesses that may lead to product improvements and application development
- Provide feedback to management and the product marketing group with respect to market needs and conditions
- Identification and coordination of promotional and marketing-related tasks with the organization to increase brand awareness in the market
- Interact and coordinate with the sales team and other staff members in other departments working on the same account
- Support the District Manager base as required
- Travel required for position (40 – 60%)
- Company car provided with an expense report structure to support additional travel and work-related expenditures
Requirements:
- Basic operating knowledge of laser processes (e.g., welding, cutting, ablation) is required

- Compensation structured as a salary + commission model
- Application-based experience is preferred
- Preferred if the candidate has experience associated with working with or in production-type environments
- Preferred if the candidate has previous sales or key account management responsibilities in the laser market, as it applies to automotive and/or general industry
- Technical expertise in automated joining processes preferred, including, but not limited to, robotics, laser welding/brazing, and other applicable automated processes
- An understanding of sensor-based applications would be ideal
