The IT Infrastructure Intern will support the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure team by assisting with technical projects related to system administration, cloud services, virtualization, and identity management. This internship provides exposure to real-world enterprise IT environments and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers supporting critical business systems.
This role is ideal for students who are curious, technically motivated, and eager to learn how enterprise infrastructure supports large-scale e-commerce operations.
Support department initiatives through research, documentation, and project coordination
Assist with cross-functional collaboration across the 1-800-Flowers family of brands
Attend team meetings, present findings, and share progress with stakeholders
Participate in internship learning sessions, networking opportunities, and workshops
Contribute ideas to enhance business processes and improve technology operations
Assist the Infrastructure team with virtualization and system administration projects
Support migration initiatives involving VMware ESXi and Nutanix AHV environments
Help with Microsoft Azure service management and cloud resource organization
Assist with identity and access management tasks using Microsoft Entra ID
Contribute to infrastructure observability and monitoring initiatives
Support documentation of infrastructure processes, procedures, and system configurations
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues
Participate in testing and validation activities during system upgrades or migrations
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Basic understanding of Windows Server environments
Exposure to Active Directory or identity management concepts
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix) is a plus
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Real-world experience working within an enterprise IT infrastructure environment
Exposure to virtualization, cloud services, and identity management systems
Hands-on experience supporting technology used in a global e-commerce organization

A portfolio of technical experience supporting real business systems
The expected hourly rate for this position is $19.00. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
