Centene Corporation is a diversified, national organization that aims to improve health outcomes through technology. The Manager of Data Protection will oversee enterprise storage and backup services, ensuring security and operational efficiency while mentoring the infrastructure team.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and supervises activities to plan, design, build, install, and monitor block and NAS storage systems, SAN, cloud storage, backup and recovery, and related technologies
- Responsible for the security of storage assets. Develops a systems security architecture, then directs the implementation and management of security solutions appropriate for that architecture
- Develops deep understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas
- Ensures storage and backup components are operational and performing as designed
- Oversees an on-call function to provide 24/7 response to critical issues
- Maintains understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas
- Mentors and develops the infrastructure team in accomplishing operational support duties
- Ensures all Backup and Relevant Storage Engineering Change, Release, Incident, Problem, Security, and Configuration Management processes, policies, operating plans, and mandates are followed
- Shares regular reporting on status updates to senior management
- Collaborates with external parties for IT procurement and vendor related IT issues
- Works with internal stakeholders (product team, senior management, etc.) which contribute to technical strategy and recommend industry best practices
- Mentors and guides staff
- Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conducts performance reviews, and provides leadership, technical guidance and coaching
- Shares knowledge and develops staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of business issues and best practices
- Develops and communicates organizational objectives; inspires and motivates team members to achieve results
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience
- Knowledge of relational database design and architectural principles and methodologies, High Availability and Disaster Recovery options, VMware, Windows and Linux operating systems, file systems, SQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases, networking, fiber channel concepts and technologies, TCP/IP, DNS
- Experience with the management and implementation of backup and associated storage designs
- Experience with one or more of the following: Networker, IBM Storage Protect, Veeam and Veeam for M365, Commvault, or other backup software
