Research Scientist Intern - Humana Healthcare Research

Humana is committed to putting health first, and they are seeking a Research Scientist Intern to support research studies aimed at improving health outcomes for senior populations. This part-time remote internship offers experience in study design and statistical analysis using claims and supplementary data sources.

Responsibilities:

• Contributing to study conceptualization and design, literature reviews, proposal writing, statistical analysis plan
• Executing statistical analysis per specifications in study protocol and under supervision of experienced research scientists
• Contribute to reporting and interpretation of results

Requirements:

• Completed or in-progress master's degree or doctoral candidate in a healthcare/research-oriented field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, applied economics, public policy, outcomes research, biostatistics, health services research)
• Experience conducting observational or prospective health-related research using regression frameworks and methods that enhance comparability between groups (e.g., propensity score matching)
• Experience working collaboratively on research teams
• Experienced in writing and optimizing SQL queries and proficient in at least one statistical programing language (SAS, R/Python)
• Interest in a career in healthcare research
• Experience with claims data research
• Experience in publishing research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
