WSP, through POWER Engineers, is seeking a Project Engineer for their Power Delivery team, which offers the flexibility of remote work. The role involves managing project engineering, project management, and client relationships to ensure compliance with NERC standards in electrical power transmission and distribution systems.
Responsibilities:
- Work with project management team, engineering teams, and clients to manage business development for NERC compliance services
- Lead the preparation of proposals and execute studies, providing engineering services for utility, renewable, and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems
- Develop compliance studies and engineering documentation for NERC standards
- Promote company culture while managing internal and external relationships
- Collaborate with other teams, business units, business developers, and marketers
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the project team
- Develop & maintain schedules, lead/participate in project meetings, oversee budgets, and participate in proposal preparation
- Take a leading role in client relationships
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects
- Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)
- Three (3) + years' relevant project leadership experience
- Familiarity with NERC Reliability Standards across all Operations & Planning (O&P) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), including, but not limited to, CIP, EOP, FAC, MOD, PRC, TPL, and VAR
- Experience executing or leading studies for one or more of these standards
- Familiarity with utilities, developers, operators, and renewable companies subject to NERC
- Relevant experience includes small- to medium-scale project lead engineering experience on projects
- Knowledge of substation and grid operation as they relate to the above listed
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Candidate must have good English verbal and written communication skills
- Be willing to travel and work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
- Experience in protective relaying, SCADA, substation communications, cybersecurity, transmission planning, or other studies is beneficial, but not required
