Vertex Inc. is a company focused on tax technology solutions, and they are seeking an Account Executive IV to drive enterprise revenue growth in the Northeast United States. The role involves engaging with senior stakeholders, managing complex sales cycles, and achieving annual revenue targets through strategic account management.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and closing enterprise accounts within the assigned territory
- Manage complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles including executive presentations, negotiations, and contract closure
- Partner with prospects and customers to build compelling business cases and ROI for tax technology investments
- Consistently achieve or exceed annual revenue targets (>$3M quota)
- Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company growth objectives
- Work closely with marketing, SDRs, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction
- Clearly articulate and demonstrate the enterprise value of Vertex solutions to Finance, Tax, and IT leaders
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM tools (MEDDPICC proficiency preferred)
- Build and leverage relationships with alliance partners, system integrators, and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- 10+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, consistently exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas
- Experience selling into Finance, Tax, or ERP-driven environments (tax, compliance, or financial software strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of ERP, POS, and eCommerce ecosystems
- Proven ability to close complex, enterprise-level deals with multiple stakeholders
- Hunter mentality with a consultative, value-based sales approach
- Comfort operating in an AI-driven, evolving technology landscape
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence
- Strong territory planning, pipeline management, and forecasting discipline
- MEDDPICC proficiency preferred
