Senior Engineer, Application Development

Celanese is a global leader in chemistry, producing specialty material solutions used across most major industries and consumer applications. The Senior Engineer, Application Development is responsible for driving new customers and opportunities in targeted markets while providing technical support regarding Celanese products during and after the sales process.

Responsibilities:

• Targets new customers in selected market spaces
• Generates opportunities for new business growth
• Manages internal new product development (NPD), testing, computer-aided engineering and external developments to drive projects to close
• Works with new customers to determine potential applications and best Celanese material solutions
• Works with Account Manager at existing customers to develop new applications and provide technical support as needed
• Provides technical support at existing customers as needed
• Manages Technical Exchanges at new and existing customers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Field
• 5 Years in plastics or related field
• Technical and business or market development experience required
• Ability to work with customers to develop a tailored solution
• Develop deep customer and market knowledge
• Draw connections to foresee future trends and develop opportunities to grow and innovate
• Ability to interact, influence and facilitate at several levels of the organization
• Must be willing to prospect for new customers/projects and develop strategies for identifying and targeting new customers and segment strategies
• Willingness to travel - 50%
