About this role
GovCIO is actively seeking a Business Analyst to join their team focused on modernizing the VA.gov platform. The role involves analyzing business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and enhancing user experience and operational efficiency through Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and refines business requirements using Agile frameworks, creating detailed user stories and functional specifications that guide the development of software solutions
- Participates in the product development lifecycle, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to best practices in system design and user experience
- Responsible for facilitating collaboration among stakeholders, gathering critical insights to enhance product functionality, and leading validation efforts to ensure solutions meet both technical and user needs
- Drives the analysis and redesign of existing processes to improve efficiency and output quality
- Analyze system requirements and business processes; codes, test, debug and implement software solutions
- Develop comprehensive user stories and functional specifications to meet business needs
- Lead integration efforts and ensure that software and systems are fully compatible across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with project managers and software architects to plan development projects and to ensure solutions meet long-term business goals
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather detailed product and technical requirements and to maintain business process documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Facilitate communication between organizational units to align operations and goals
- Actively participate in enhancement/development projects, including analysis of user needs, gathering requirements, and managing scope of work documentation
- When needed, lead backlog grooming, estimation meetings, retrospectives, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years experience (or commensurate work experience)
- Experience working directly with the VA or similar federal agencies
- Skilled in translating complex technical requirements into functional specifications
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive system and requirements analysis
