WSP is seeking a Lifecycle Project Manager for their Power & Energy Program Management Office. The role involves providing high-level technical project leadership and managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of EHV Transmission and Substation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate with all levels of management and disciplines throughout the project life cycle to support project cost and schedule objectives, both internally and within the client’s systems
- Lead the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans
- Oversee management of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control
- Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical leads, and business leaders, identifying any emergent issues with scope, risk, and/or budget and mitigation strategies
- Be the face of WSP for the client. Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with client by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention
- Adherence to proven processes and ability to develop new processes to standardize procedures
- Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Project Management or Construction Management), Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C firm, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment
- 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry
- Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process and strong background and experience in project management. Experience managing projects through a variety of delivery models (DBB, EPC, PDB)
- Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management
- Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
- Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs
