Mechanical Design Engineer III (NC)

RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer III to support hardware development, plant modifications, and nuclear component design. The role requires strong expertise in mechanical design and 3D modeling to ensure compliance with Nuclear Quality and Safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare 3D models, detailed drawings, perform engineering analysis, and create technical specifications to support hardware development
• Support plant modifications and nuclear component design initiatives
• Collaborate with Tooling and Analysis teams to deliver designs aligned with Nuclear Quality and Safety standards
• Communicate design concepts, progress, schedules, and challenges to Field Deployment Teams, Engineering, and Project Management
• Conduct design reviews with engineering peers and leadership; incorporate feedback into final designs
• Provide technical and documentation support throughout procurement and fabrication processes
• Ensure final designs meet all application requirements, including Nuclear and ASME Codes and Standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering
• Strong experience in 2D drafting and 3D modeling
• Experience supporting fabrication processes
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical hardware development and documentation
• Knowledge of ASME Codes and Standards
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modeling
• Nuclear industry experience
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional engineering environments
