Amodal AI is an open-source AI agent runtime company, seeking to hire their first developer-facing role. The Developer Content Engineer will be responsible for building demos, publishing marketplace packages, and engaging with the developer community to enhance understanding and adoption of Amodal's products.
Responsibilities:
- Build demos. The core of the job. Two to three short videos per week (3–8 minutes): screen recordings with voiceover showing real workflows. Connect a system, write a skill, query the agent, show the result. Clarity and honesty matter more than production value
- Build and publish marketplace packages. Connect systems like Stripe, HubSpot, Jira, and PagerDuty; write skills that encode real domain knowledge; publish them to the registry. Each package is also a demo. Each demo drives adoption
- Own distribution. Post where developers are: Twitter/X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, Hacker News. You're responsible for getting the work seen, not just creation
- Engage the community. Monitor GitHub issues, answer questions, and review marketplace submissions as the ecosystem grows. Know who the interesting contributors are and amplify their work
- Attend the occasional conference. Talks, workshops, booths, roughly 10% of the role
Requirements:
- Comfortable enough with code to build with developer tools: terminal, API docs, debugging
- Able to explain technical work clearly on camera or in a screen recording
- Biased toward shipping. Three rough demos this week beats one polished one next month
- Familiar with the AI/developer tools landscape (AI agents, LLMs, developer workflows) and have opinions about it
- Self-directed. We'll give you the product and target integrations; you decide what to build and what angle to take
- Experience with AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, etc.)
- A YouTube channel or technical blog
- npm packages or published open-source work
- Prior devrel/developer advocacy experience
- Experience with short-form video creation
