Mediant Health Resources is seeking an AI Application Engineer to work on Epic FHIR Integrations. The role involves building and integrating an AI-driven scheduling application with Epic, developing FHIR APIs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance scheduling workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Build and integrate a homegrown AI-driven voice/web scheduling application with Epic, enabling real-time appointment booking and confirmations
- Develop and support two-way Epic integrations using FHIR APIs (read/write for patient, scheduling, and availability data)
- Design and implement backend services for data transformation, validation, and secure handling of healthcare data (PHI/HIPAA compliant)
- Enhance and scale an existing MVP, adding new features and workflows from a backlog of requests
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to align scheduling logic, workflows, and system performance with Epic Cadence and patient access needs
Requirements:
- Experience with Epic FHIR integrations
- Proficiency in developing and supporting two-way Epic integrations using FHIR APIs
- Ability to design and implement backend services for data transformation, validation, and secure handling of healthcare data (PHI/HIPAA compliant)
- Experience in enhancing and scaling existing applications, adding new features and workflows
- Strong collaboration skills with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders
