RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Topeka, KS that is looking for an experienced DevOps/Platform Engineering leader to modernize and evolve the client's DevOps capabilities, enabling faster, safer, and more reliable delivery of technology solutions across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
* Assess current DevOps tooling, pipelines, and practices
* Define and execute a roadmap to modernize CI/CD and automation capabilities
* Establish scalable DevOps and platform engineering standards
* Partner with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to improve delivery practices
* Design and standardize CI/CD pipeline patterns and templates
* Improve build, deployment, and release processes
* Implement automated testing and deployment strategies
* Reduce manual deployment and provisioning activities
* Lead adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Enable automated environment provisioning and configuration
* Improve consistency across development, test, and production environments
* Integrate security controls into delivery pipelines
* Implement automated scanning and compliance checks
* Improve secure delivery practices without slowing development
* Improve developer experience through standardized tooling and templates
* Build self-service capabilities to reduce operational friction
* Create reusable "golden path" patterns for application teams
* Mentor engineers and development teams on DevOps practices
* Help teams adopt automation and modern delivery approaches
* Promote collaboration between development, infrastructure, and operations teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering roles
* Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines at scale
* Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, or similar)
* Experience working in hybrid or cloud environments (Azure experience preferred)
* Experience automating build, deployment, and infrastructure workflows
* Strong scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
* Experience integrating security into delivery pipelines
* Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience modernizing enterprise DevOps practices
* Experience with container platforms or Kubernetes environments
* Experience implementing GitOps or modern deployment models
* Familiarity with observability and reliability practices
* Experience working in regulated or large enterprise environments
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
