Corvid Technologies is an engineering firm specializing in high-fidelity computational modeling and simulation for aerospace and defense. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical safety devices and support product lines related to fuzing and safety products.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership and technical lead of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical safety devices
- Generation and maintenance of 3D CAD models and drawings throughout product lifecycle (including developing, producing and enforcing design standards & best practices)
- Mechanical analyses including but not limited to stack up analyses and finite element analysis
- Generation of test plans/reports, support test events, and design & produce test equipment as needed
- Review new designs, provide design feedback as a Staff Level Reviewer
- Work with a remote design team and coordinate all local needs for product integration
- Lead Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects as well support business development activities & proposal development
- Provide support for continuous process improvement and design for manufacturability initiatives
- Provide technical insight and mentorship to junior engineers
Requirements:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance (preferred candidate will possess at least a secret clearance)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related STEM discipline) and at least 10 years of relevant work experience is required (advanced degrees are encouraged to apply)
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-1901, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-810, and JOTP-052 requirements
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities as well as a strong desire to contribute
- Experience in aerospace and defense industry, particularly with defense electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly (low and/or high-volume production)
- Experience with energetic systems, fuzing/arming concepts, or weapon effects/lethality assessments
- Experience and knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience with a full range of product lifecycles, from design to production
