Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance to lead and deliver complex IT initiatives. This role sits within the Portfolio & Project Management Group and is responsible for driving projects that align with strategic business objectives across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects in insurance or financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, including software implementations, system integrations, upgrades, RPA, and infrastructure initiatives
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously (3+), ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules using effort-driven methodologies (MS Project)
- Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
- Manage cross-functional and matrixed teams, resolving resource and scheduling challenges
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, with timely escalation when required
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and leadership
- Facilitate communication with business sponsors, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership teams
- Ensure adherence to PMO governance standards, processes, and documentation requirements
- Develop key project artifacts including project charters, communication plans, risk plans, and resource plans
- Support continuous improvement of PMO processes and methodologies
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of IT Project Management experience delivering end-to-end projects
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets of $150K+
- Strong background in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance (MANDATORY)
- Experience working in insurance or financial services organizations
- Proficiency in project planning tools (MS Project) and effort-driven scheduling
- Experience managing project financials, forecasting, and budgeting
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage vendors and SOW-based engagements
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and PMO governance
- Ability to understand technical architecture and data flows at a high level
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification (from Project Management Institute)
- Experience with insurance platforms, system integrations, or digital transformation initiatives
- Exposure to RPA / Intelligent Automation projects
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
