Torc Robotics is a leader in autonomous driving technology focused on developing software for automated trucks. As a Software Engineer I on the Metrics & Release team, you will contribute to cloud-based infrastructure for evaluating system performance and ensuring software updates meet safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of AWS-based data pipelines that process vehicle telemetry and validation data
- Develop Python code and services supporting safety and performance metric computation
- Assist in analyzing truck-generated data and translating it into measurable system signals
- Support implementation of release validation logic tied to automated testing pipelines
- Collaborate with systems, validation, and autonomy teams to help define meaningful KPIs and metrics
- Investigate pipeline failures, data inconsistencies, and telemetry anomalies using logs and large-scale datasets
- Support statistical analysis and reporting across validation and testing data
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to deliver reliable, maintainable software
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field plus 0–4 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a related technical field
- Strong programming experience in Python
- Familiarity with data processing, data pipelines, or working with large datasets
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, or Step Functions
- Basic understanding of statistics, data analysis, or metric computation
- Ability to analyze system behavior through data and logs
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, or sensor data processing
- Experience working with telemetry, event data, or time-series datasets
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or AWS Step Functions
- Experience contributing to automated testing or validation pipelines
- Experience working in safety-critical or high-reliability systems
