About this role
Standard Bots is focused on lowering the barrier to entry for real-world automation and unlocking productivity through innovative robotic solutions. The Senior Applications Engineer will design, install, and support robotic solutions while collaborating with sales and engineering teams to enhance customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales and customers to design robotic solutions for novel applications, serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales cycle
- Own installations end-to-end — traveling to customer sites to install, program, and validate Standard Bots solutions in the field
- Create technical enablement materials including sample code, application notes, and white papers that help customers get the most out of our platform
- Collaborate with in-house engineering to test and refine new features and integrations as our product expands
- Contribute to marketing efforts by developing collateral that communicates the value of Standard Bots solutions to prospective customers
Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience across electrical, software, and mechanical systems
- Comfortable with DC power
- Understand NPN vs. PNP
- Can write Python scripts
- Can navigate CAD tools like SolidWorks
- Hands-on experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments
- Experience working alongside or within production or assembly environments
- Ability to communicate with precision and empathy
- Ability to prioritize user outcomes over technical elegance
- Ability to default to simple, reliable solutions
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving, high-expectation environments
- Experience in designing robotic solutions for novel applications
- Experience in creating technical enablement materials including sample code, application notes, and white papers
- Experience collaborating with in-house engineering to test and refine new features and integrations
- Experience contributing to marketing efforts by developing collateral that communicates the value of solutions
