The Insights Manager will develop and execute actionable insights based on data analysis to drive strategic recommendations, support brand growth, and enhance profitability through collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the consumer's advocate by utilizing sentiment data and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions that prioritize customer needs and preferences
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior sales leadership and account representatives, ensuring alignment with organizational sales objectives
- Lead the analysis and presentation of point-of-sale and menu-based insights to key strategic customers, fostering collaborative partnerships through data-driven recommendations
- Utilize diverse data sources, including POS, proprietary retailer databases, and market research tools, to review brand opportunities such as space-to-sales, item deletion/replacement, shopper traffic, and basket analysis
- Oversee the scoping, design, and execution of primary research projects in collaboration with internal teams and research vendors, delivering actionable insights and strategic guidance
- Guide seasonal research initiatives to support business planning and innovation efforts
- Monitor and communicate key trends and business health indicators to inform brand and category strategies
- Support international research efforts, e-commerce insights, innovation initiatives, and B2B customer satisfaction tracking
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, fostering professional development and a collaborative team environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, or a related field; an advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in consumer insights, market research, or a related area within the manufacturing or consumer goods industry
- Deep understanding of retail environments, consumer behavior, and food manufacturing trends
- Proven experience in designing, executing, and overseeing primary and secondary research projects with impactful insights
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations and foster cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link, and others
- Experience in category management, sales strategies, and interpreting POS, shopper traffic, basket analysis, and market trends
- Ability to influence stakeholders and secure buy-in for insight-driven initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools
