As a Commissioning Engineer specializing in the GE Mark VIe Plant Controls System, you will lead the commissioning and testing of control systems for Combined Cycle Power Plants, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial runs, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants
- Perform pre-checks, system energization, and network verification to ensure seamless communication and full functionality across all devices and subsystems
- Supervise and execute loop checks, functional tests, and protection testing with rigorous documentation and operational log standards
- Manage system turnovers across all phases — from installation through commissioning to final customer handover — ensuring full compliance with procedures and documentation requirements
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, review control logic against engineering design documents, and implement HMI screen modifications and alarm configurations
- Champion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety walks, and subcontractor compliance monitoring
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to site safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Deliver clear, actionable technical feedback and detailed site reports to engineering and project teams
- Manage commissioning test equipment inventory, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely return
- Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs across the commissioning organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Willingness and ability to travel for long-term field assignments (up to 100%) across the United States and internationally
- Deep intellectual curiosity with a genuine passion for energy, technology, and innovation
