ParsonsKellogg is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their team, where they value people and foster growth. The role involves securing enterprise-wide networks and supporting local and wide area networks, ensuring network availability, and potentially supervising support specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and support an organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN)
- Install, configure and support an organization’s Internet systems or a segment of a network system
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
- May monitor and test website performance issues to ensure websites operate correctly and without interruption
- May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
- May supervise computer user support specialists and computer support network specialists
- May administer network security measures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar) with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Network Visibility: Understanding network visibility such as NetFlow, SFlow, SNMP stats and the value and impact this can have on helping an organization achieve their business goals
- Network Automation: Understanding how to automate network operation to increase the administrative accuracy and efficiency of the customers networks
- Understanding EGPs and how they provide value to the customers networks to achieve enterprise wide or global reachability
- Security: Understanding how security controls come together to provide comprehensive security
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II requirements
- Experience working in Linux environments (e.g., command-line usage, basic scripting, or system navigation)
- Experience working with cyber asset management tools (e.g., Forescout)
- Certification: CCNA or vendor equivalent within 6 months of hire
