The ICT Engineer role involves supporting the design and implementation of network infrastructure within data center environments, ensuring that telecom pathways and cabling systems meet performance and reliability standards.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design of telecom pathways, spaces, and structured cabling systems (fiber and copper)
- Assist in reviewing ICT infrastructure designs and specifications developed by consultants
- Review submittals for pathways, cabling, and ICT equipment
- Support development of scalable fiber optic and copper infrastructure solutions
- Assist in creating and maintaining design standards, templates, and Basis of Design documentation
- Participate in RFP development and coordination with external design consultants
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to specify equipment
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and Switch requirements
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams across projects
- Support site visits, design reviews, and project coordination activities
- Research new technologies and contribute to design improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
- Foundational understanding of ICT infrastructure or structured cabling systems
- Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling systems
- Basic knowledge of data center or critical infrastructure environments
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ICT design or telecommunications infrastructure
- Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and ANSI/BICSI standards
- Experience with tools such as Bluebeam, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Office
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Revit
- Progress toward BICSI certifications such as RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, or OSP
